Membership Value: Increased!
In our ongoing effort to help you become your most capable self, we are always looking for ways to maximize your time in the gym while maintaining a fair and sustainable balance for everyone.
Our solution is to give all current class memberships a complimentary bonus: a 1x/week Open Gym membership, which has just been added to your profile. (If you saw an automated confirmation email recently, that’s what it was!)
Lately, some of you have been using your standard class allotments to do solo work during class hours. Moving forward, we want to invite you to utilize this new Open Gym credit for your independent training, allowing us to keep actual class spots dedicated to coached, group sessions where everyone can high-five and suffer “have fun” together.
From a coaching standpoint, this extra hour is a massive opportunity for your athletic development. In a standard 60-minute class, we hit the stimulus hard, but there isn't always enough time for the "boring but important" things that move the needle long-term. You can now use this dedicated weekly slot to break through plateaus and explore new athletic endeavors, such as:
Targeted Mobility & Joint Health: Spend unhurried time attacking specific restrictions (hips, ankles, shoulders, overhead position, etc) to improve your lifting mechanics and stay injury-free. Your 40-year-old knees will thank you, and frankly, so will we.
Zone 2 Aerobic Capacity: Build a wider cardiovascular base with longer, steady-state engine work on the rowers, bikes, or ski ergs. It’s the perfect time to build that massive aerobic base without watching the clock panic-sweating. Summer is coming or something. You can ask the coaches for specific engine programs!
Skill Acquisition & Flaw Correction: Dedicate a session to practicing technical nuances like Olympic lifting turnover, double-under timing, or gymnastic kipping progressions, all at your own pace, free from the judgment of a ticking timer.
Structural Accessory Work: Hit the isolated strength pieces that often get cut for time, such as single-leg stability work, core-bracing/midline-stability protocols, or upper-body pulling volume to finally balance out all that pressing. Again, ask the coaches for a program if you want to target something specific!
Existential Staring: Sitting on a foam roller for 12 minutes while contemplating your life choices and staring at the ceiling fans is also highly encouraged. You can also work on eye pushups. It counts as mental recovery!
This is really just a great excuse to see your beautiful faces more often and give you the autonomy to own your training journey.
Enjoy the extra floor time, and we'll see you at ATTN!
